School Information
All schools administrators have the potential to make a school increasingly efficient. They can cut waste, find new funding opportunities, re-arrange the school's approach to purchasing, remove duplicated processes...
Indeed, as an article in the Times Educational Supplement earlier this year showed, it is quite possible for a single administrator not only to save 10% of the school's budget through efficiency programmes, but also to generate another 10% additional income by locating grants to which the school is entitled, but for which it had not previously applied.
Which is why the Department of Trade and Industry financially supported a scheme to develop a National Certificate in Educational Administration for people working in school offices.
The certificate is awarded by the Institute of Financial Accountants, and the course has been developed by Hamilton House Mailings with the support of University College Northampton. The course was launched in January 2006.
The course is offered as a distance learning programme and will take most students one year to complete. As well as helping school administrators to develop new skills, it gives them the opportunity to network other schools and share best practice.
