Courses in administration and school efficiency from the School of Education Administration.

The SEA runs four courses on school administration and school efficiency. All are validated by the Institute of Business Management and are taught by distance learning

The Diploma in School Efficiency ( a one year programme for administrators, bursars, school business managers and school managers)
The Certificate in School Efficiency (a two month programme for administrators, bursars, school business managers and school managers)
The Work Management and Administration course (a two month programme for school administrators)
The Certificate in Educational Administration (a one year programme for administrators, and bursars)

Diploma in School Efficiency

TheDiploma in School Efficiency is a one year course taught by distance learning. Dates for the next course will be announced shortly.

The course is aimed at senior school managers, administrators and bursars, and requires students to undertake six projects and a number of small activities (most of which take the form of writing a brief report on how issues raised in the course relate to their school). The six projects are all focussed on planning, and in some cases negotiating and undertaking efficiency programmes within the school.

Certificate in School Efficiency

The Certificate in School Efficiency course is taught by distance learning and takes two months. Dates for the next course will be announce shortly.

The course is aimed at senior school managers, administrators and bursars, and includes a series of activities in which everyone in the course shares information with each other, and a project through which those on the course aim to make their own school more efficient in any one area of school work.

This project can be located in any part of the school and can range from attempts to reduce the electricity bill to improvements in the process for chasing unauthorised absences, from raising staff morale to encouraging all members of the teaching staff to use the most efficient and effective methods of teaching.

Work Management and
Administration Course

Certificate
in Educational Administration

Places are still available for the next intake on to this one year distance learning course which starts on 7 May (closing dates for application are 31 April). This course covers areas of school administration including time management, stress management, dealing with visitors, leadership issues, health and safety etc etc.
